LUCKY SUPERMARKET SHOPPING COMPLEX

13808 – 127 STREET, EDMONTON, AB

The new Lucky Supermarket comprises the renovation of a 60,000 sq foot warehouse, including the addition of a new circular glass entrance tower, two storeys high, in the southeast corner of the building. The site was redeveloped, and additional towers built over two existing buildings.

Careful consideration of  the existing building’s structure, accurate computer modelling , and an in depth knowledge of curtain wall systems makes this project a success.  Inside the building the coordination over 1,100 pieces of equipment were modelled, controlled, and monitored, to enable the coordination of architectural, mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration requirements.

Specific challenges for this project were the integration of supermarket equipment with other disciplines,  navigation of  the development permit processes,  and coordination of authorities having jurisdiction.
